Reaching the phase in my life, where SENIOR is something I have to get used to π
Depending on the context senior can be positive, i.e. life and work experience π π‘ π§, or it can be negative, i.e. age when applying for a position π²
Being an introvert I have often wondered why people have a tendency to listen to reply, rather than listen to understand the full context. There are plenty of academic studies and books explaining why we are challenged when it comes to the latter, and nowadays, there are plenty of books helping the reader to be better in how to listen (with empathy).
In order to support my skills as a Certified Business Coach I have been given some titles to read, which again – being curious – inspired me to dive further in to some areas of interest.
Being pragmatic on this topic (I like simplicity or rationale) I would have appreciated having this book: “The Advice Trap” written by π Michael Bungay Stanier as an option for reading earlier in my life.
Quote from a reviewer: “This is a book of advice about not giving advice. It shouldn’t work. But it does”
With an open Mindset you will find lots of inspiration for ways to handle the daily challenges of executing leadership in the business world, but also as a parent at home π‘
I see this book as one among several being an inspiration for lifting us all in to a better way of being with each other πͺ
It’s one of these books that can be read more than once π§
I wish you an inspirational reading.
